Default Sm Hydra issues

I recently bought a Montague humidor, 3lbs of heartfelt beads and a sm Hydra with all the fixings (fan kit and 3 fans). I am in the process of seasoning my humidor but the calibration on my Hydra seems to be way off. Since it is to big to fit into a bag or container I decided to calibrate my digital hydro (the small rectangle one with adjustments) and I have another digital hydro. Both will read 63% in the humi but sometimes the Hydra is as much as 9% higher, I have adjusted the calibration knob all the way down to as low as it will go. I say sometimes because when the RH reaches about 70% according to my 2 stand alone hydros the Hydra is only 2% off. The room I have them in is about 64F. I have all the beads in there charged and 2 dishes of DS water with sponges as well. I have taken everything out and just left the Hydra and standalones in there with the same effect of not having matching RH. I really think humidity sensor on the Hydra is busted. Can I take the Hydra apart to further adjust it (is it a potentiometer)? I'm still troubleshooting to find the most likely issue but can anyone offer any help?

I dont use the Hydra Hygro.
I make sure my seperate Hygros are calibrated. I have one in the drawer and the other in the Cabinet.
If I want more I add more to the Hydra without worrying about what the Hydra Hygro his telling me. I have never been able to ajust the Hydra accuretly.

If I would have know that the Hydra is not accurate I would not have made the purchase. At this point I just bought some very expensive PC fans which I already have. Were you able to get it to a happy medium with your calibrated hydros? Ie 65% = 72% on the Hydra? This is what really bothers me is it seems exponentially off not by a predictable #.

My Hydra does the same thing. I placed all my hydros on the shelf with it and all read about 8 points lower than the hydra.
I had it replaced by them and the new one does the same thing. I just set the hydra for 73% and all my hydros read 64 -65 on every shelf.
I also found the hydra reads 10 to 11 % higher for the first few days after I fill it, then it comes back down to the 8% difference.

You can use the hygrometer on the Hydra to provide relative information. If your other digital hygros tell you that the Hydra is too high then adjust the Hydra accordingly.

The other thing with the Hydra is that it is better of you can put the power brick outside your humidor as it generates a lot of heat, which will raise the RH.

Until your humidor is fully seasoned I would not worry about the Hydra and this could take several weeks depending on the dryness and size of the cabinet. Once you have calibrated your hygrometers you can check the Hydra by placing it in a cooler. In the upcoming months your humidity will fluctuate as the temps change and you use the heat in your house. But if your cigars are smoking well, dont worry about it too much.

Yes as soon as you have the Delta you are OK, works fine for me. When I said not accurate I was talking about not being able to read the same % as my Hygros but since I found the Delta, It's alway right on the money. Just need to be careful if you miss electricity it resset to the factory settings and need o be ajusted again. Hope this helps. Also between your Hydra and Beads at one point they gonna start dancing one with each other and it will stablize on its own unless the Delta between your beads and Hydra is too high but for this part I am really not an expert I just know it works.
