Default Cutter or Punch?

Which do you prefer? I have always cut my cigars, but recently got a punch and I like the change.

Both work nicely.
Most of the time I use my Palio but I like a punch now and then.

The punch cutter on most headers large enough to accommodate the punch. I enjoy the draw coming from the punched hole. Any thing with a small ring gage gets the Palio

Cutter here, but I've only had one punched cigar, so not a lot to compare it too. Need to get my punch out and use it some more, give it a fair shake.

Punch on everything less than 54 rg. Anything larger and the tar build up is too much

Same here....I tend to use the punch with:

Cigars that are slightly underfilled (The RA Gladiator comes to mind)

Short cigars with a large RG (like the RA Lusitanos)

Yup. Almost always a cutter. Most of the cigars I've been smoking lately are too slim even to try a punch.

been using (cigar) scissors almost exclusively for the past 6 months or so. everytime it's a perfect custom cut, I'll probably keep using these until something else shiny comes along and distracts me

I'll also add that I like to use a punch cut on a cigar that looks delicate or has a slight crack near the head. Typically, the punch will prevent further damage or the cigar from peeling apart.

Punch for any short filler, like JLP's, and a cutter for everything else.

Mostly a punch, but I smoke mostly short filler like JLP's.
