Default Holts DPG's

I'm curious about the Casa Royales and the Conniseurs. Any thoughts on these?

Casa Royals are very good. Not too peppery, at least for me, and the price is right. Haven't tried the Connoisseur.

I don't know if Holt's sells singles of those sticks online but if not let me know and I'll pop in the shop and grab a couple for you.

When the Pepin blended Connesiur first came out I order a box and they were really strong. Too strong for me, so I forgot about them and about seven or so months later retried one while mowing the grass and blam. The strength lessened to a more manageable level for me and the flavors were huge, the turn around was such a surprise I savored and rationed the rest. Well when I ran out some time later, I reordered them and they had changed. The strength was medium at best and the flavors didn't pop any more. So as a result of the last box I haven't reordered since.
The Casa Royale's are worth a fiver to try IMO.

The three Old Henry lines are worth looking into as well, as are the LHO's - one of the best bundled smokes out there, period.

From what I remember, the Casa Royal shares (or shared) the wrapper with the Tat black. I wanted to like both of them, but they just didn't fit the profile I was looking for. I thought the flavors were muted and didn't have the spice I expected from a Tat/Pepin stick.

The Old Henry on the other hand is a great smoke. The maddies are awesome.

I really did not like the Casa Royales at all, and felt the connoisseur's were only passable. The Little Havana Overruns (LHO's), especially the first version which is long since gone, are far superior.

I would get almost any other DPG smoke (eg DPG Blue, 601 red/green, cubao, etc) long long before the Casa Royale or Connoisseur.

The Casa Royals were decent but I hated the Connoisseurs
