Default MEAT PIE - Appetizer

Meat pies


½ lb lean ground beef or turkey
¼ lb bacon, diced
1 medium onion, chopped
½ lb fresh mushrooms, chopped
1 tbsp. Tomatoe paste
1 tsp. Dried tyme leaves
1 tsp. Salt
½ tsp. Ground black pepper
½ cup sour cream
2 all ready made pie crust
1 egg
2 tbsp. Milk


crumble beef or turkey and set aside. In heavy skillet brown bacon until crisp.pour off drippings. Add onion and beef or turkey. Saute for 3 to 4 minutes. Until meat has lost its pinkness.
Add mushrooms and cook until liquid is absorbed. Stir in tomato paste, tyme, salt, black pepper and sour cream. Remove from heat and cool.
Take pie shell and cut out 4-inch rounds. Fill each with a rounded tablespoonful of filling. Fold pastry over filling.
Place on ungreased baking sheet, pressing edges together with fork. Prick tops with tines of fork. Brush with mixture of egg and milk.

Bake at 400f for 12 to 15 minutes or until pies are evenly golden brown.
