Unhappy Gurkha Nautilus

Takings swing at my firs review.

Gurkha Nautilus
Robusto 4.7X 52

Pre-Light: Solid Construction, Firm with tight draw. Smelled of rich sweet tobacco, with a hit of pool chemicals? This should have been a sign. I used my cheapie double blade and pinched it (this is where things took a turn for the worst) my fault not the cutter or cigar.

Lighting: Had a warm nutty scent followed by the smell of a lit philly (sign #2)

1st 1/3: Bitter/tar this was overwhelming for the first few puffs, this was after I let the cigar cool a bit too. As it burned a bit more I start to get a nice mellow nut/dark coffee flavor.I think this was the flavor profile that this cigar was suppose to have, this only lasted for a minute or so. From this point the burn started to canoe extremely bad, to the point the cherry had a roof of wrapper over it. I dont like to touch up if possible, but rotating it did nothing. After a few touch ups the burn still was awful.

2nd 1/3:Between fighting the awful burn it was either very bitter or bland, im assuming from either heating up and cooling. No decent flavor profile to mention, at this point even with touch ups, the wrapper was hardly burnt at times about 2/3 of the way around and needing constant touch ups. I havent even had dried out phillies burn this bad back in the day!

3rd 1/3: The burn started to even out but still very bland mild smoke, once in a while I would get a hint of a nutty note. I normally smoke to the last 1/2" but I put this one down at 1 1/4" left, I just to let this one go.

I dont want to bash Gurkha, I have had at least 3 before, and always had a good experience. But this was awful, this was one of those smokes where I question what do I see in a cigar. Not only that but I have been turned off of Gurkha brand at least for a while. But good news! I picked up a sweet cutter on ebay today for a great price....pics and more to come when I get it!

Gurkha's seem to be hit or miss... mostly miss from what I can tell... Except for a few lines like the ninja and the spec ops...

Good Review I'll stay away from these... Thanks for taking the bullet...

The Seduction is the only one I have any use for. But why should anyone have to try 30 plus named sticks from a manufacturer before they find one they somewhat tolerate?
