Active Humidifier and Heater
Hi Everyone,
Being frustrated with what to use to humidify a cabinet humidor I got for X-mas I built my own that also keeps the temperature at a steady 68 degrees as I live in the Northeast and turn my heat don to 60 at night. I am posting some pics in case anyone is interested in doing this project. Thanks Scott. Some links seemed to be broken so here are the new ones. If you are interested in doing this as a project i can put together a parts list and you choose the cigar box. All in the parts were around $50 and alot more patience

Hmm I would love a parts list. I don't need the heater side but more active humidification would be great and I'd like to see how you sensed that as well as triggered the fans to get moisture going.

I have had quite a few requests for a parts list. It will take me about a week or so but I will publish it here along with the links on where to buy all the stuff.
If you notice on the pic of the humidor you will see a sensor on the middle shelf on the left hand side. That senses both RH and temperature and is connected to the control board on the bottom pic (the one on the front of the humidifier with the red LED temp and RH display) |

Here is the parts list. If you need help email me and I'll do what I can to help.
12v-6 amp power supply - if you are not going to need heating 2 amps or above will suffice http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 RH and temperature controller/relay - This is what turns the fans on when the humidity drops below whatever you set it for. It is also what controls the heat if you need heat. I can draw up a wiring diagram on how to wire this. The speed will likely depend on the size of your humidor. These are pads manufacturers use for heated clothing.
