Yes, you will. But only if the floor model is close in configuration to what you are looking for. You are planning to spend a chunk of money. You should get exactly what you want.

Especially true if it going to be in an area of your home where everyone will see it. Mine is in the living room. So this was important.

Good point. But the spa treatment experience will last just a day or weekend. If she is involved in selecting the wood and exterior she wants, it is something she will be looking at for a long time.

Listen to Peter.
In my case, my wife wanted me to go much bigger.
She was very involved with me in the selection process.
Foolishly, I thought it was one of those "go ahead and do it and I will kill you" moments.
Turns out it wasn't. She meant it. I now regret not doing it.
BTW, love my set and forget.

Thanks again boys and if you have anything else to add please do so.
So I have the M plus 25, if you are considering this size, I would definitely grab some string and map out the dimensions on the floor where you think it is going to go. I didn't think 6 inches would make a huge difference but it does. My humidor is more square than I had thought it would be.

Personally, if I was to do it over again, I would probably get something that was a foot taller and not as deep. So something that is 5 ft tall instead of 4 ft tall.

I actually use beads in mine and not the water reservoirs. When I first got it in the summer, I could not get the RH down with water in the system, so I use about two pounds of beads and my humidor is usually 62-64%, but I do have the temp control.

This also adds another issue. There is a drain for the cooling fans that empties into one of the reservoirs. So it is hard to pull out the bottom shelf as I have to reach behind and pull out the tube before the shelf can be pulled out.

You get used to the fans after a couple of days. I think you end up tuning them out.

I haven't thought about capacity, I think mine holds at least 1600 to 1700 cigars.

I would just lay out the dimensions and get what you think works best for the room.

Good luck, he is more of a phone person from my experience.

when I was making decisions, asking detail questions, getting various quotes, Bob was quite good at email for me. Sometimes took 2 days for a response, but it was always a detailed and on point response.

I think that a combination of phone and voice will work just fine.

Just place your order Bob makes a hell of a humidor. I have had mine for just over 15 years now and the darn thing works and looks just as good as the day I got it. Bob is a great guy and builds a real beauty

I had plenty of email/phone conversations with Bob. You cant go wrong either way! Just the wait until you receive the humidor feels like ages Hope you feel better soon.

curious, how long is the build process. I think I have finally decided to get one and am going to pull the trigger on a MxTHC-26.5 in Black Walnut tomorrow.

For me, my end table took roughly 6-8 weeks. That includes my initial contact with Bob, discussing costs/options and him shipping me some wood samples for me to finally select my choice of wood.

It is going to depend a lot on what wood is in stock, how many in line ahead of you, etc. However, Bob told me 10 weeks and it was done at right about 8 weeks. Mine has no applied finish, so that may have been the difference.

It was about 10 weeks for mine, but I requested some minor changes during the process so that may have added time.

Bob is a pleasure to work with on the phone, I highly recommend doing at least some of the details that way.

My Email was returned promptly before the end of the day.
Spent most of the weekend discussing options with my wife, and the plan is to give Bob a call in the AM!

You won't be sorry, Dom.

If you are like me and having difficulty deciding on the choice of wood, Bob will be happy to send you samples of the wood/finishes you are considering. I had narrowed it down to 2 choices and was pretty sure the black walnut was what I wanted. It turned out the dark brown mahogany was the better choice.

Just got off the Phone with Bob.
What has been said here about him cannot be echoed enough.
He walked me through step by step, answering all questions, and covered all options without sounding like a salesman.
I have some wood samples heading my way and still have some decisions to make, but I'm already getting excited!

Thanks again to all the fella's who commented and offered up Ideas.
I would've never thought to ask for a wood sample, and the fact that they are coming has already calmed some nerves about buying such an expensive piece sight unseen.
