Default Tin Tobacco?

Lockout posted yesterday about Christmas and Holiday blends and this got me to thinking. I have never been heavy into my pipe but I do enjoy it as winter approaches. I remember a favorite being a holiday blend but when I went back the shop said it changes every year.

I realize pipe tobacco comes in tins but I have never tried any. Is there a certain brand or holiday/Christmas blend you guys could recommend to me to venture into tin tobacco? I really enjoy sweet tobaccos and I don't know how to describe it other then saying I want to smoke something that tastes like Christmas again. Sounds weird but some of you mat know what I mean.

Aaah............it is getting to be the time I start packing my pipe pouch with goodies to smoke while I'm on a 24 hour shift at work. Really look forward to it even though I very rarely smoke pipe 'baccy at home anymore. As for X-mas blends I seem to have an aversion to aeros, but McClelland tins a special Christmas blend each year which is a straight VA and easy enough to find.

Peterson's Irish Whiskey, while not a specific Christmas blend, always reminds me of Christmas when I smell and smoke it. Its got this real distinctive sweet bready smell to it. Sort of like fruit cake but with a lot less sugar. Its my personal favorite as far as aromatics go.

McClelland does Holiday Spirit, which is very Christmasy in terms of flavor. They also annually release an aged straight virginia blend every year called Christmas Cheer. Vintage, specially selected, red virginia broken flake.

I found Christmas Cheer '09 and '10 and I hope to get both. Work has sucked and funds are tight so I had to sell a humidor full of cigars to pay the bills. Hope the shop has these at the end of the month when I should be back on track.

Now to try to find Christmas Spirit.
