Default Putting them to rest?

About to put recent shipment to rest and wonder if preferred to place them in their box after inspecting, or can I set them in cedar trays when setting them in the humidor?

Any suggestions on recommendations on waiting time before I can light them up; figure minimum of 30 day; of yea, not sure that's going to happen.

I always smoke one right off the truck, then wait at least 30 days (or longer), depending on how the first one smoked.

I leave mine in the box as my humidor is large enough for plenty. Personal preference on that.

What Tom said, I always try one as soon as I get them...then depending on how that one smokes determines resting time for the rest of the box, I will usually keep mine in the box as well unless they aren't going to rest for long.

I thank U's for the prompt response. Good news, try and hold off until tomorrow, weather prognosticators predict warmer and sunny skies.

Great advise, became obvious, sampled from box of Vegas Formosa, OMG, perfect smoke from start to finish, no lighter required after the initial light, great flavor for over an hour. Intend ordering another box and set aside, only get better.

The cigar from the 2nd box, RyJ, far too much attn.; hopefully few months rest they will improve. The humidity is currently set at 66-67 and probly best to leave it there.
