Default Pre embargo Montecrito

I have a chance to pick up a few of these and I am wondering if I should? These are from a reputable source. I don't doubt their authenticity my concern is will there be any flavor left and would it be worth it. Just curious if anyone here have had these and what your thoughts would be?

Much depends on how they were stored. In most cases, it's a crapshoot.

I wasn't implying they were fakes, just opining that pre-emargo cigars are usually a crapshoot in general.

I would spend my money else where. So many variables. Do you trust said retailer to have personally stored them properly for the last 60+ years? If not do you trust the person who had them before? Many pre embargo (legit ones not the ones that CI sells) seem to come from people's basements or attucks and found in estate sales. They're more of a novelty than anything. You have to keep in mind cigar storage hasn't always been the "science" that we think of it now.
