Blazer Torch CG-001 vs. Little Buddy
I am planning on buying a torch lighter soon, and am stuck on deciding between two of them from blazer. I would like to know everyone's opinion on which one they like better and why. Please no alternative torches. I want a Blazer only.
Thanks. |

Re: Blazer Torch CG-001 vs. Little Buddy
I have both and really like the ergonomics of the Little Buddy, especially the large flame adjustment on the bottom. I also like the clear tank so I can see how much fuel I have, though the all hold so much that it is really a small point of contention when picking a color.

I like both of them TBH, but I am leaning more towards the Little Buddy. The only thing I do not like about it is the child resistant lock and the fact that I heard people saying it was not wind resistant. Correct me if I am wrong.

Re: Blazer Torch CG-001 vs. Little Buddy
The CG-001 and PB-207 have the same burner arrangement. The Little Buddy is different. I don't remember if is a good or bad thing, it's just a difference.
Flame adjustment on the CG-001 and PB-207 is a bit tricky with fat fingers. It's a small "switch" on the sides of the burner. Not easy to get at when lit (hot). The Little Buddy would be easier to adjust the flame when lit since the dial is on the bottom of the tank. The PB-207 and Little Buddy have the "flame lock" where engaging a switch holds the igniter button down. No "flame lock" on the CG-001. On the Little Buddy the cap opens automatically when the igniter button is pushed. To that point, I wouldn't remove the child safety. While the cap on the CG-001 isn't automatic, one could easily flick it open with a thumb. No child safety on the CG-001. My choice: I went with the CG-001 because the casing gives a bit more protection to the burner and fuel tank. While the cap on the CG-001 is somewhat bulky when opened, it does help with wind deflection and I haven't had any issues with it staying open or being in the way. P.S. - Don't get a clear CG-001 because it has a slight yellowish tint and is not a true clear. And don't get a silver CG-001 because the silver finish isn't as durable. |

I'm not familiar with the CG-001, but I've had several lighters with the same cap as the Little Buddy -- they kind of get in the way of lighting the cigar. Not a huge issue, but irritating at times. I like the classic PB-207.

I've got a PB 207 that I love, my most used, other than my tabletop Lotus. But I've been looking at a Little Buddy as well. As long as it's a Blazer you can't really go wrong!

This is my favorite lighter. Kevin gifted me one and I use it every day. I believe it's the same as the Lil Buddy, but without the child lock.

Re: Blazer Torch CG-001 vs. Little Buddy
So far, the cheapest I have found it at is on Heartfelt Industries at 39$ shipping included to Canada, but I have to wait a week as they are somewhat closed.
I would have ordered off Monster as price is not so bad, but Famous-Smokeshop just regards us Canadians (including anyone out of USA) as useless when it comes to doing business. Why should I have to wait 3 extra processing days? Are I not a paying customer? Never will I deal with them. So many restriction on International orders is ridiculous. |

I think it's a brilliant design. It lights, first time, every time. It's not the prettiest of lighters, but it's the most utilitarian. Knocking around the house, it's what I use. If I want to be snobbish, I grab my $100 Xikar when I go out. But I keep the Blazer in my back pocket as back up. |

Hello Carlo, I've had my Blazer PB207 for over two years with no problems to date. Good fuel capacity too. Its a great little burner:
The GuangDa was gifted to me be Steve (Waffle) and I love using this one too: Both are great lighters Carlo...

The bottoms of the PB207's with color are clear, and you can then see what fuel remains prior to re-filling
