Is Bassnectar considered dubstep? It sounds more like drum and bass to me.

I understand there is a lot of criticism toward Skrillex, him creating this new brostep genre and all. But, this track still makes me jam out!

Eh, I don't care what "step" they call it. As long as it appeals to me, I like it. Why be a snobby dubstep purist and get angry at everyone for "ruining the genre" when it takes far less energy to just enjoy yourself?

thats my Now to enjoy First of The Year...

love gold dust and flux pavillion, I cant't stop listening to em

for me, skrillex was some of the first "dubstep" I heard, so I originally classified the genere with skrillex right at the center of it! Technically I know better now, but generally first impressions are hard to shake

(been listening to his new EP out btw, not bad. 30 minutes of head nodding goodness. I'm enjoying it plenty, tho i doubt it will have the same repeat pleasure levels of something like gold dust or rock n roll train.)

+1. It is as bad as the alternative scene has gotten to be. Now you have
Alternative Rock
Alternative Radio Rock
Indie
Garage
Douchebag Rock
Emo
Hardcore
Screamo
Punk
Pop Punk
Post Modern Hardcore
Electronic post hardcore
Thrash
the list goes on and on and on. This arguing over dubstep vs brostep is retarded. Electronic is more fragmented than rock ever thought about being.
