Default Cigar of the month Clubs

So, my question is, is are they worth it? I like the idea of getting new cigars every month that i've never tried but i'm curious what cigar of the month club is the best value as well. Is it better for me to just search out sampler pack deals like with cigars daily or a more subscription based system instead? I'd be curious what you all have to say about them and if you use them then what's the best deal as far as you've found. God bless you all!

I recently signed up for StogieBird, $60 bucks a month for 8 cigars. I have only received one so far but I think it is worth it. I spent some time researching and this was the best I found for cigars for the money and options on shipments.

I joined Privada Rare cigar, $30 a month 3 cigars, very highly recommended, boutique stuff, my cigars look great but… I haven’t smoked them yet and probably won’t start til April. But again highly recommended.

I will throw My Cigar Pack out there as an option. I am in and out of this one. They do a lot of factory direct stuff with boutique brands and have had some exclusives in the past. Boutique stuff is 80% of what I smoke these days so this appeals to me. There are 3, 5, 8, 10 pack options and can be tailored by cigar strength. They also own CigarYard for outright purchases.

As with ALL cigar clubs, if you know what you are looking for and where to get it, these are almost always a ripoff, but I like the surprise factor sometimes.

This one is good. I killed my sub a few months back and it is sold out right now so I am back on the list. The farm rolled/test blend stuff is fun too

Yep, that's a real good selection for $35 + s/h.

My memory of most COTMs was that they were just meh. A monthly bag of cigars the vendor wanted to unload but no one would buy plus one or two "good" cigars to keep you coming back. Sure, at MSRP you got "more than your money's worth" though...

I've tried a few other COTMs and I agree with you on them unloading cigars they can't sell. I have been a subscriber of Neptune's for about 6 months and have been satisfied with most all of the cigars. The main reason I subscribe is I get to try cigars I more than likely wouldn't have. This is the first time I received all cigars that I have had before.

Everyone in the Asylum, who belongs to a COTM club, should post up their cigars in this thread, so others can see if they might be interested before pulling the trigger.

Just a thought

I see StogieBird got rid of their signature tubes. My brother used to subscribe to them and he liked them.
