Default I need a smoke!!!

Arrgg!!!

I have lots of great sticks that I have received in trade that I have yet to try.

Here's the freaking forecast for the upcoming week:

Monday
Day: Showers or drizzle. Amount 5 mm. Fog patches dissipating in the afternoon. Wind south 50 km/h gusting to 70 becoming southwest 20 gusting to 40 early in the afternoon. Temperature falling to 8 in the afternoon.
Night: Cloudy. 60 percent chance of showers. Wind southwest 20 km/h becoming light in the evening. Low plus 4.

Tuesday
Cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers. High 9.

Wednesday
Cloudy with 60 percent chance of showers. Low plus 5. High 13.

Thursday
Cloudy with 40 percent chance of showers. Low plus 5. High 7.

Sigh.

What's an outdoor smoker supposed to do?

ive smoked under an umbrella before... not ideal, but you do what you gotta do

the combo of the smoke and the sound of the rain is quite relaxing

We Newfies usually don't own umbrellas. Too windy.

Might be able to pull it off when the wind drops down a bit though.

Food for thought.

I've been wanting to build a cover for my patio for just that reason. I use a 10x10 tent now and I enjoy sitting out and listening to the rain. The tent is not ideal though. I'm fighting the wife on the cover because she likes sitting out in the sun during the summer.

I think I'll stick with the tent for now because last time I checked:
Tent + happy wife =
If it ain't broke don't try to fix it.

Bummer about your weather tough. It's fixen to get pretty cold here this week too. Need to find some local brothers with a shack.

Y'all folks live in areas of the country that are not fit for human habitation. Any chance of snow means I can't live there.

I'm in the same boat as you. I'm moving to VA in the middle of winter. I have no idea what I'm going to do for smoke breaks.

You should consider a retractable awning. That's what we plan to do. Cover when you need it and open skies when you want it. Not sure how much they go for though.

I have slept in snow shelters and would build one when the snow hits. Right now it's just mild, rainy and windy out.

I just had a quick smoke, lighting my cigar under the BBQ cover and huddling under the eave to keep it dry. Worked well enough.

I agree, although it is just as hard to be comfortable hot in 115 degrees.

I totally agree. I hate the heat so much more than the cold. When it's over 85, I'm just uncomfortable...unless I'm in my kayak and can simply flip upside down in the 40 degree water for a quick cool off. Over 100 and I'm wishing I was dead.

In cold weather you can simply add clothes and you're comfortable.

Kayaker...you'd look funny, but I suggest you sit outside in a drysuit with thermal insulation. You won't even notice the weather.
