Default Fresh roast seems "hollow"

Hey guys, haven't been around in a while. How have you guys been? I'm trying a new local roaster and I want to like what he has. The coffee has weight in mouth, great brew aroma and almost no flavor. I know I'm drinking coffee, I smell that it's coffee. It just tastes like hot water. I don't have this problem with other roasters (local or otherwise). What am I missing or what is he missing? Anything I can look into?

I'm going to ask the same thing, how was it prepared. I've made coffee in a drip that tasted like aromatic hot water and used the SAME coffee in my stove top not espresso espresso pot and it was rich and good. Speaking of I've got a killer craving for some Cafe Bustelo in the stove top pot.

You guys hit the nail on the head. Making it in the drip machine (communial office industrial thing) is hollow. In the french press it was fine. I also found the office drip machine was running cool as well.
