Default Great Deal - Box of Cigars

I thought it might be beneficial to post deals on boxes of cigars in this thread when we find 'em.

Rocky Patel Spring Toro or Robusto $74.95

I'm not a huge RP fan, but the ITC 10th Anniversary is a terrific smoke. Blended by AJ Fernandez I hear too. Good stuff!

I'm afraid to try them, since they're being discontinued.

I have been dying to try the ITCs!!!

But unfortunately, my credit cards need to be put to sleep for a while and I am currently out of room in my humidor anyway.

Damn that's a good deal though...

It's soooooo tempting, but I'm scraping my pennies together for a box of Diesels ATM. Plus, for about the same price, I can get a box of ITSFs, that I know won't abandon me...

I smoked an ITC 10th Anniversary I was gifted the other day. It was a very tasty smoke. I need to get some before they disappear.

i just love atlantic cigars. just bought a box of chisels for $109 and a box of JdN celebracion churchills for $72. that's the cheapest you'll find either of these cigars, no doubt. you need to call in for the chisels though - their price over the phone is always lower than online ($151 online price).

Default Re: Great Deal - Box of Cigars

The best deal I have found recently on a super cheap cigar is the Calle Ocho at CI.
They're about 30 bucks for a bundle of 20.
I bought a bundle a long time ago because they were damned near free with a purchase I made (it was a special) and when I read about them, they were a Dominican made Nic puro.
I thought that was kind of odd, and figured they'd be awful, but decided to try them anyways. When they arrived, they smelled like they just fell out of a cow's ass, which I pretty much expected. I put them up in a humi jar with a bag of HCM beads to dry them out and pull the ammonia out of them as quick as possible.
Fast forward about 8 months, and they are incredible. Typical nic puro strong, delicious, and a total joy to smoke. As good or better than lots of ten to fifteen dollar cigars I smoke.
The time it takes to make them decent is a tradeoff with the price. If you enjoy a medium to full bodied spicy nic puro with lots of earth, sweet and chocolate, you can't beat them.
Know that it pains me to give CI a plug, too.

I bought 2 bundles of these (P Corona's) because they were practically giving them away (CBID) but haven't smoke one yet. I was not all that impressed with them just by looking/smelling them but have had them resting for 2 months so maybe they will be worth a revisit.

When I got the Calle's, I'm sure they only offered robustos. I would have bet you they were maduros, but I pulled them out and the wrapper is very sumatra red. They still smell incredible, but I think they're moving past their "window" where they are super good.
I notice that with a lot of CI's house brands and even with their better stuff like Graycliff Double Espressos. They'll be awful, get real good, then fade into nothingness. I'm going to have to ask why that happens. It baffles me.
It must just be that I enjoy cigars most at a certain level of maturity?
