Low Country Waccamaw in my new Nording Freehand. Definitely has improved since I last smoked it. It's going nicely with some JBM blend coffee on the side.

I really like the GLP Westminster. I managed to garner a 16 oz. tin for around $30 over at Low Country when I visited there (scratch and dent sale). It is a very complex blend with leathery and earthy overtones. Very smooth, a veritable filet mignon of pipe blends. I look at Westminster more as an evening blend, it's full bodied and has a tendency to overpower the senses. A real experience when smoked.

I fully agree with your assessment of this mixture, as to its being complex, earthy and full bodied.

While I can fully appreciate the subtle qualities of Romeo y Julieta Belvederes, Gamay wines and coffees like Jamaican Blue Mountain… My taste, run towards the like of La Flor Dominicana Double Ligero, Chianti and Cabernet Sauvignon, Bourbon and Grappa and dark roast Sumatran coffees.

A lighter blend of tobacco might be hard pressed to stand up to the full bodied cup of Sumatran coffee.

Cigar/Pipe tobacco and coffee parings might be an interesting topic.

Had some of Boswell's Northwoods today in a Sav billiard. Can't believe I haven't tried that tobacco until now, I've had some for awhile...

Very good smoke, I'll be placing an order to grab some more Boswell's tobacco soon.

I had received a tobak "bomb" a while back from Brad (Slavac) with a sample of Tinderbox Wilshire and a tin of Peterson Special Reserve 2009.

I had teased Brad about the nice box of potpourri that he sent me, but today, I decided to try a bowl of the Peterson in a cob (just in case). I was pleasantly surprised!

Even though it smelled very "floral" in the tin, it turned out to be a nice mild mixture of Va and Cavendish. It was a very nice smoke!

Thanks, Brad!!

Having some Orlik Golden Sliced right now. Tried the Mac Baren way of folding flake tobacco, and it's working wonderfully. Smoking out of my Boswell (not the CA one).
