Default ST DuPont Ligne 2

I just bought one from an AD with the dual flame. I have been using torches and I am concerned a soft flame may not work well outside. Any experience with this lighter?

Soft flames won't deal with the wind like a torch, but soft flames are fantastic. Once you get used to using them, its hard to go back to a torch!

I use a Dunhill Rollagas which pretty damn close to a ST Dupont and I don't have too many problems. It's best to light the cigar near a building (away from the wind). Touch ups can be done anywhere though. It takes a bit of getting use to. But you'll be alright.

It should be here in a day or two, so I will let you know. I will probably be out in the snow. Thanks for the info.

Yep, I hardly ever use a torch, so much more flame and quicker lighting with a soft flame.

I am looking forward to it. I cant remember ever using a soft flame lighter before to light up. I have had torches for so long and used matches before that. Thanks.

You can adjust the flame a little higher for outside, but this is not an ideal windy day lighter.

Well it arrived quickly as I had it sent FedEx Overnight and upon opening the package and checking it out, I was pleasantly surprised by the look and feel of the lighter. Even though it was cold out today and was starting to snow, I decided to try it out on a Padron Anniversary Series Cigar as it is one of my favorite non ISOM cigars. Traditionally I have used a torch only to light my cigars and I have used and owned many different brands such as ST Dupont, Blazer, Porche, Xikar, etc. I was so used to using them for the ease of lighting that I did not realize how it was affecting the taste of the cigars. When I first opened it and turned the striker, I was a little disappointed at how small the flame was but I was quickly relieved when I adjusted it using the screw on the bottom. I took it outside and it performed admirably and it was quite windy at times. It is a little bit more difficult for me to light the cigar outside if the wind was blowing but it was nothing that rotating my body could not cure. The thing I most happy with is the taste of my cigars. I did not realize how much I was burning the cigar with the torch.
