the band is a form of identification. I rarely look at the bands once the cigar is lit and frequently remove them before cutting as long as doing so doesn't cause any damage.

I care... And I do suspect that everyone does to some degree... Does anyone think for a minute that people "who don't care" would smoke a cigar that had two men kissing on the band regardless of how good it was???

I am sorry but people do judge a book by the cover... I have seen such goofy bands that I have passed... Siglo NC for example...
