I hope Rye Whiskey is appropriate for this thread. Thought some bourbon drinkers might enjoy this.
Dave, I love rye. Is this a different Sazarac than what's available elsewhere? I was going to bring a bottle also. Seven year old, cut bottle, about $20. I don't mix it, drink it neat.

I won't be picking up the bottle till Saturday but I believe it to be the same whiskey. I've heard that with small batch whiskeys a private selection distributor has the pick of which bottlings to purchase. And since the whikey is made with small batches there will be a variance between one bottling and the next, thus giving you a better assurance of quality.

I see the Four Roses Single Barrel Bourbon has a high Rye content.

For Dafu, this thread is for bourbons we will be having for a tasting at Shack. Bourbon for cocktails will be great, but not sure if this is the place to post it. Are you putting this bourbon down for the tasting we have scheduled, or are you bringing that for everyone at Shack to sample?

I don't know why Dave put "for cocktails". I drink this rye neat. Bring it Dave, if no one else drinks it, it won't go to waste

Is there going to be a seperat table/area set up for the bourbons?

A new one for me was the Colorado Whiskey, which is not bourbon, but thought it was very good.

Greatest disappointment was the Basil Hayden's. I like my Bourbon sweeter.
