Also just noticed the Font is wrong on your picture. Look at the "C" of Cuba especially... that's a pretty dead giveaway right there.
Dang, beat me too it! lol |

The font of 'Habana, Cuba' is wrong on yours, bro. Look closely at the real one you posted then at your band. Most glaringly, the "C" in Cuba.
I usually wouldn't go by bands alone but with Jamaica in the mix, that's red flags to me.

Fixed that for ya...
Don't feel too bad, if it tastes good, just be glad it wasn't a complete dog rocket. It's gotta be a good feeling knowing that at least it was a good smoke, real or not. That's what happened to a buddy of mine when he went down to Mexico, came back with some fake Cohibas that were just awful tasting. |

Another thing I noticed is that in the picture of the authentic band, there is some black between the gold edge and the bottom row of white squares. On your band, the gold cuts through the bottom row of white squares, with no black in between.
The embossing also seems to be too pronounced. I'm no expert though. Just pointing out some differences in the pictures. |

Yep, unfortunately a fake but if you enjoyed it - great. The good news is that there are probably cigars available in the us that taste like your fake.

I had some of those with the same font "C" as yours. They really weren't bad tasting for fakes. I even took one apart and it was all long filler. Luckily, I learned my lesson and got those fakes out of my system.

BTW, what happened to you with your Fauxhibas has happened to most of us at one time or another.
I got some great Fauxhiba's in Cabo. Mine were not as good as yours and since they were my first "Cubans" they kind of turned me off on them. Now that I know better I am much happier (and have much less spending money ![]()

Yup. I'd be hard-pressed to name anyone who's been smoking for a while who hasn't smoked a fake Cohiba or three. Come to think of it, the list of people I could name who've likely never smoked a real one would be far longer and easier to assemble.

As Michael and James said, this is something most of have been through. Fakes are much easier to find in most countries than legit Cubans. Even in Cuba there are large amounts of fakes, some sporting legit bands smuggled out of the factories.
There was a time that Jamaica produced some fantastic cigars, this is no longer the case. If the cigar came from any place other than an official LCDH in any country, the chances are good that it is a fake. ![]() |
