Glad you're ok. Shame about the car.

My wife hit a deer a couple years ago (she was behind me, and when I passed the same deer it doubled back toward the woods but then turned around and jumped out in front of her) and it did WAY much less damage to the car than a head-on with another car would have.

Yes, I too wish people would pay more attention where they are swerving toward when they try to avoid stuff. Had several close calls here also from idiots trying to avoid small animals. I just aim to put them down the center of the car, if possible.

Glad everyone is okay. And your advice is backed up by stats. Sure you can find it but the insurance companies did a study that said 70% or more of injuries and deaths involving deer was because of swerving and hitting something/someone else.
