Word on the street is Apple will announce a tablet running OS X , presumably the new mac pro, at the June event.

"no free software" is certainly not true of osx, and isn't even true on ipad/ipod
"no installing apps from the web" could be a reasonable statement about ipad/ipod only, but not apple (os x) in general
"no sharing music or books" and "we can remotely disable..." both refer to DRM restrictions on media - but you can purchase DRM-free mp3s on itunes...

so I stand by my

advice for you folks regardless of wether you wait or not.

95% of you would be better off with a slightly faster dual core processor than a slightly slower quad for the same money. MOST programs don't know what to do with quad and you only end up using two cores anyway. Plus its more power and more heat .

(I DO use the quad cores in my desktop quite frequently... but thats only because I'm a photoshop junkie.)
