Charcoal Sale
Home Depot is having their sale on Kingsford Charcoal again. Two bundled twenty pound bags for 9.97 ea. Limit 4, so 8 bags per customer.
The wife and I stocked up today. Looked like we were hauling 'shine. Took me a year and a half and 1k posts, but I may have finally posted something useful. Happy Memorial Day all

Re: Charcoal Sale
In the Birmingham area, Lowe's price is $8.00 for two, or $4.00 each. Looks like HD & Lowe's battling it out! Good time to stock up, for sure!

Dang, I just spent $18 on two ten pounders. Well at least I can stock up on this sale.
I just hope it is still on sale tomorrow.

Re: Charcoal Sale
Yeah, I've been taking advantage of this sale for the last 2 years, on Memorial and 4th of July holidays. I usually stock up plenty enough to last until the next sale.
The bags were slightly bigger last year. The bags are now about a pound lighter. No biggie, still a good deal. |

Re: Charcoal Sale
Ths thread was made for jackin. I like the value of the Piggly Wiggly store brand in lump. "Best Choice",
there's a good chance the middle of the country is exposed to that charcoal. It is Royal Oak charcoal lump bagged as Best Choice in a red bag. I think the standard briquet bag size is 3.99. Not seemingly as cheap as a Kingsford big box deal, but GOOD lump coal at a good price. I swear 2/3 of the bag is large and medum pieces, and a third small chunks. No hardwood flooring and burns great. Not that hardwood flooring scrap doesn't burn just as hot and last as long. |

Re: Charcoal Sale
Just came back from Lowes with 8 bags for $36. At $0.27 a pound it's a great price. Had to make two trips to the truck because of the store limit per purchase but all stocked up now. I hope.

Re: Charcoal Sale
I took the Wife and picked up 4 bags this morning at Home Depot, would cost me more than the $1 difference in gas to go further to Lowes.

Re: Charcoal Sale
Just bought 20 bags of Quebec pure maple charcoal for $4 a bag! The smoke flavor is incredible but it burns hotter than the Kingsford Comp.
