As a Padron whore, I hate to say that any padron would be unsmokeable, however- I think that Padron has laxed on their QC as of late... I've had caps were lopsided and stems thrown into the mix...I still love that Padron flavor though.

I'm enjoying a 3000 maduro right now. I'll agree the construction is inconsistent but the flavor has always been top notch for me. I have two boxes now, one maduro and one natural and have had zero problems. They've been in my humi for several months now.

I've never had an original Padron I have enjoyed. The high end ones are great, but the X000 and originals are not great. The natural wrapper just gives me a cheesy bread flavor, makes my stomach churn thinking about it and I've tried 4 of them! The maduro just tastes like burning tobacco, no coffee or chocolate to me, except in the Ambassador size, which were pretty good.

I never smoke a stick from a B&M until it sits for a week or more, most keep ther sticks waaaaaaaaaaay to wet. I find I like mine at 65% or less (closer to 60%) when above that they have burn problems and taste like crap. The Padron 1000 series is one if the most consistant out there and I've probably smoked 2 dozen boxes with no issues.
Sorry you had problems may the cigar fairy bring you many good ones in the near future. |
