I'm about a 50/50 CC vs. NC smoker right now. For strength and spice the NC's have it hands down. As for depth and nuance it's CC's.
I prefer a medium strength cigar so the cubans are right up my alley. The price is another huge factor.

You choose, a box of Fuentes for 400 bucks or a box of Party shorts and a box of Montes #4's and a box Bolivar Gold Medals. For me, it's a no brainer.

When I do go back and smoke an NC, it is usually a Hemmingway, VSG, Pepin, or Illusione.

Those two posts sum it up for me!!

That comaprison means nothing. There is absolutely no connection between the two.

Truth to this... other than the name (marketing scheme by major cigar manufacturers) These cigars share absolutly no likenesses (is likenesses a word?)

I wonder about where said Cubans came from for a certain number of responses from this thread. Perhaps a friends brothers cousin who was a janitor at the Partagas factory? Or a street vendor in Mexico?

Even the people that say it's like comparing apples to oranges still concede that Cubans are the best. so what does that tell you?

That would have to be further qualified for me to make a decision. Too general of a question.

For example I'd take an Opus over a JLP but I'd take that same JLP over a Cremosa.
