I just grabbed this app. Looks pretty sleek. Ever consider including pics of the cigars as well, inside the library? Maybe get your customers to upload standard pics (eg. Standard resolution, standard dimensions, photographed from same distance, cigar next to an iPhone -- for size comparison) to make it easier to collect thus data. Also, it would be nice to have the library link to a database of customer/forum reviews. Just some ideas I have.

Standard resolution, standard dimensions, photographed from same distance, cigar next to an iPhone -- for size comparison) to make it easier to collect thus data. Also, it would be nice to have the library link to a database of customer/forum reviews. Just some ideas I have.

Was wondering what the possibility of adding an "index" to the right hand side would be when scrolling through brands. To scroll through quicker. There may not be enough room.
(May not be necessary now that you have added search.)

I had been planning to add the index as you describe, but did the search function instead. Think it's still needed?

FYI, Mobile Stogie is now on twitter as well (@mobilestogie). Seems like a good way to let users know about updates, new cigar additions, etc...

I love this app! You did great work. It helps me to keep a solid inventory of my smokes and know which humi or cooli they are in as well as ages and prices I paid.

Now that I have the search function working, I'll finally get to work on the smoking notes section. This will be a major addition that will take some time, but I'll post updates and seek feedback as I go.

Just downloaded the app. It looks nice so far, but I have a TON of work ahead of me. It's going to be especially hard because I have a lot of singles and I dont' know the details of, so I'll have to look up online first. Nice app though!

Updated the software on my app today, and them emailed myself the updated inventory. Pretty sweet! Sortable through Excel . . . just what I need is a tasty hobby that appeals to my natural geekiness, too.

Ken,

Long time no suggest lol. There hasn't been any need since you've basically been killing it all on your own. But I am curious about something, does your inventory back up when your iPhone is backed up?

If it doesn't might I suggest we move that to the top of the list?

If it does can we augment it so that every time you connect it backs up?

Yes it does.
I had to get my phone replaced last week.
When I synced the new phone, everything was transferred.

Short answer is yes, when you sync your iphone, the database is backed up

. So for example, if you get a new phone and sync it to a backup of your old one, it will be all set. A more formal "import" feature is oft requested, still a tough one to do though.

Haven't been posting much here, because I've been traveling a lot, but I'm getting some serious traction on the reviews section of the app. Heck of a lot of design considerations to make it useful, yet easy to use. I'll try to post some teasers later this week...

Have you seen your competition that was just released?
Got an email advising me of it.
Index "Puro" on search.
Quite neat in that it contains history, photos, coffee/teas, whiskey, etc.
Perhaps some ideas for yours as I sure as heck don't want to download a second application.
