Welcome back Tom!

Lots of cardio again. Went into the gym, and worked on rehabbing shoulders. Seems to help some already, but time will tell.

Thank you for the welcome, Bob. Fingers crossed for you Brother!

Took all that energy and all those empty carbs and knocked out back and legs today. I'mma feel it tomorrow.

Leg day! Always enjoy leg day, especially when I’m sporting my Petrucci Power Beard Oil. (He’s the guitarist for Dream Theater. Kinda bulked up years ago and sports an epic beard).

Rehashed my last leg workout. Was able to get a few extra reps in. Gonna feel it tomorrow.

Figured I’d revive this thread since I’m fully back in the gym. Been going in 4 days a week now, and happen to be there when a friend of mine is there. He’s a couple years younger than me, but working out since ‘87. Always jacked. Anyway I asked him to help me work on my chest, as it’s my weakest body part. So he showed me some moves to help build size/strength.

Used the cable machine to do multiple sets of flyes, some seated, some standing. Differing heights of the pulley, to hit different areas of the chest. Then something as simple as using a band, standing on it to add tension, hands out to the side, then bringing arms extended up in front. Could really see it hit the upper chest. I’d say in all we did 14-15 sets each to failure, even doing some drop sets to squeeze out a few more reps. Then some simple incline dumbbell presses. I’m feeling it right now.

Never too old to learn some new tricks, Bob. If I knew when I was 20 what I know now.....

Way to go Chainsaw!

I've actually gotten back in the gym as well. 3 weeks back on track 5 times a week lifting and riding a Pelaton style bike. Seeing changes already and feeling so much better. Started taking creatine with my preworkout and it's pretty incredible how much better I feel daily. I think cognitively the creatine has me more awake and much more focused actually.

Something else I've started doing is at the end of showers I throw it to cold for as long as I can stand. I've done cold plunges in the past and absolutely love how I feel after and even just a minute in the cold water at the end of showers refreshes and wakes me up for the day.

Congrats on getting back at it, Pete.

I used to do that cold water move on chest day, flexing my chest hard into the stream. My current shower at home just doesn't get that cold...I've been thinking about trying cryotherapy at my gym.

Nice Pete! I may need to give creatine and preworkout a try again. I haven’t been taking them yet.

Legs and shoulders today.
Smith machine squats
Barbell front squats
Straight leg deadlifts
Calf raises

Then did a short, shoulder workout with my friend. Again he showed this old dog some new tricks.
So in the Ez bar rack is a short barbell you can add weight to if you want to do curls. We used that, sans weight, to do side shoulder raises. Last set we added a couple 2.5lb plates.
Then using the EZ bar, back against a pole for stability, did front delt raises.
Then some seal rows to hit the rear delts. I was gassed at that point.
