My 69 Camaro had the floor high beam switch. Replaced it every few years. Seems like the sand or something would cause it to wear out. I actually prefer it to the signal stem switch.

My parents had a few of these that we used every day. They were eventually replaced by the plastic ones. We repurposed them by taking teh guts out and using the metal trays as water bowls in our rabbit hutch.
