Android is 100% opt-in, you can disable it, it doesnt hold nearly the amount of information (in quantity or accuracy), and it cannot be identified to a specific device. Not to mention, once you disable location services (in your menus) it del's the files that contain the location information...
Its a double edged sword. If you want location based search information it has to know where you are... |

Personally owell your not going to quit using the phones, and i think they have been able to do this since there were gps chips and sim cards in the darn things.... Especially the ones that have been able to get on the internet....
