I am not a big coffee drinker but I really like Peet's coffee. I specifically like Major Dicksons Blend. It's bold and has some nice floral notes. I make iced coffee with it mostly, leftovers from the bosses French press. The blend is bold enough when I add a little cream I can still fully taste the coffee.

For a major national roaster Peet's is very good. I was quite happy when they came to Wi. UncleBeanz is in a whole different class as an artisanal roaster. You are just going to have access to coffees that could never be made available through a national franchise. You are also going to have a much broader range of flavor profiles etc...
If I were to compare to beer Folgers-Grocery Store Bean = Bud, Miller, Coors etc... Basic beer available everywhere and largest market share. Starbucks = Sam Adams Microbrew with macrobrew market availability Peets = Sierra Nevada Microbrew with national availability UncleBeanz = Bell's, Three Floyds, Lake Louis, Rogue, Victory etc.... Still a real micro brew in batch size, distribution channels, Q-rating etc... Beer for the beer nerd. Or in UB's case coffee for the coffee nerd. ![]() I didn't put a ton of thought into the analysis just kind of my first impression. Someone want to do the coffee - cigar comparison which would be more appropriate for this board? |
