The price keeps going up in MI too. I changed over to an E-Cig, since smoking is banned at public indoor places now. I know its still not good for me, but it is probably better than a regular smoke. I guess some of the upsides is that no one even can detect smoking since there's no smell, no burnholes, and I can smoke in my office and no one has a clue. $25 = about 2 cartons worth of e-smoke...and my lungs are much more happy.

I hope that 12.75 isn't financing some important government program because that funding is going away at that price.

Sheesh, what a price! I am glad I don't smoke cigarettes.

I understand... but as others have said the price alone will not make you quit. Or at least that is my experience. I did that rationale, along with a bunch of others, so many times it is ridiculous. I finally quit for good... yes I said for good... I will never touch another one... then I got hypnotized. It worked for me!!! It gave me things to do during all of the times when I would usually smoke.

i roll my own cigs, at about 12.00 for a bag that lasts me a few weeks. I want to quit so bad. And like brent said it shouldnt be about price, really should be about your health, now I just need to stop too!

I thought it was bad enough to quit when it went from $0.75 to $1.00. I succeeded because I got militant about it.
Money wasn't the reason I quit. I just figured life would be better without the cigarette addiction.

Early 80's maybe late 70's. I started smoking in 1984 and they were 90 cents a pack. Quit the first time in 1992 and they were around 1.75 a pack then I think.

Fell off the wagon in 93 and quit for good in 97. I think they were still less than 3 bucks a pack in 1997.

In Ohio.
