Lets review: Military spending has gone up in 2009 after Obama has taken office. If your program has been cut, you might find those responsible and blame them .. it sure as hell isn't Obama.

where are you finding that military spending has gone up and in what areas. i work at naval air station jacksonville fl. flight hours on that base alone have gone from 50,000 hours a year to 35,000 hours a year. that is result of a budget reduction. not because the military didn't budget correctly. military budgets are given through quarterly installments. this 30% reduction is not on one program here or one program there. this happened across the whole military.

me not using my shift key has nothing to do with my writing skill or my grammar ability. on my computer i get lazy. i don't like using the shift button. on the job there is no laziness involved. i have to sign for everything i do or touch on the engine. i can be sent to prison if i am found guilty of being negligent of wrong mechanic procedure.

I'm starting a collection to buy Troy a shift key for his keyboard.
While I understand that writing ability has nothing to do with mechanical skill*, I would be more scared that multi-million dollar aircraft and pilots' lives are being entrusted to someone who writes at below a sixth-grade level. You might be a great mechanic, and I hope you are, but your posts are extremely difficult to read, partly because of their extremely random nature, partly because of the lack of adhering to conventions when it comes to punctuation, capitalization, etc. * I've seen this in my own family. My father barely graduated high school, but he can rebuild a carburetor. I have a Master's degree with an English minor in my undergrad, I can build a computer from parts, but I can't even change my oil.

these are for 2010
Funding Highlights: • Provides $533.7 billion for the Department of Defense base budget in 2010, a four-percent increase over 2009. • Includes $75.5 billion in supplemental appropriations for 2009 and $130.0 billion for 2010 to support ongoing overseas contingency operations, while increasing efforts in Afghanistan and drawing down troops from Iraq responsibly. • Supports a transparent budget process, which simultaneously and separately requests estimated base budget and overseas contingency operations costs. |

i can see this is turning into a big debate. that is not what i was trying to do. i can only express my thoughts about what i see happening where i am living and working. that is what i was pursuing, i wanted to express my thoughts. boy did i ever open up a can of worms. i think i will stick to my poems and humor. even though i'm not that good.

Great. Then I'm going to close this. There are plenty of places to talk politics on the internet. Cigar Asylum is not one of them.
