![]() I never thought to use the word absurd, but it fits perfectly. About two years ago I actually swore at the "supervisor". She had lied to me directly three times, not returned my calls, and was about as helpful as syphillis. I can't remember what word I used, but remembered being very upset with myself because it was the first time I ever slipped in a "professional" fashion. I should have called Darrell to stomp her out. lol

We went with Verizon the end of last year. The first couple of months were rocky, as we didn't want the data services, texting and so on. It took three months to get everything we didn't want shut off.
It was totally painless for me. The wife is distantly related to a bulldog, and by the time she finished with them, they probably would have done anything to get her to leave them alone. ![]() On the plus side, Verizon has the best coverage of any carrier I've ever used. |

I believe that there's really nothing I hate more than Verizon and their employees in all services.

There's nothing in this world that even comes close to how I hate Verizon. It's really weird. I've never been treated as poorly by anyone. Not even my ex-wife. Verizon has her beat exponentially. Although she may lie more. That's a toss-up.

I think Verizon is great. No Issues and the best customer service. Better than the other phone companies that I used in the past, AT&T and Sprint.

Never had an issue with VZW here. Switched to them when Cingular/AT&T crapped out immediately post Katrina and VZW was still operational. Still with them as a satisfied customer.

Personally I have more of a problem with Verizon internet. The last time we had a serious problem, we had to contact the BBB before they would even talk to us.

I have no land line here because Verizon is the carrier. I had to deal with them for a couple of my offices when i was working and they were a nightmare to get things done. Never on time and overcharged.
Happy with Sprint.

I always call my phone guy or go in the store when I have a problem and that usually gets it taken care of ASAP. Never had much of a gripe with them

I only have cell phone service and haven't had any issues as of yet. I've had to contact them a couple times and didn't have any problems (knock on wood). A big positive for Verizon is when Hurricane Wilma hit, I still had phone service even though I lost power for a couple weeks. Neighbors with other carriers did not for a few days.

I have no complaints about Verizon cellphone service but I agree Customer Service is terrible!! Especially at the store. After waiting an hour to talk to someone they never can fix it.

I got a replacement phone a few months ago due to a crack in the outer casing - it wasn't a warranty-type issue, and they didn't have this as a common problem on record, but they volunteered to send me a new one via 2-day. I received the phone and promptly forgot to send back my old one (in the pre-paid box/label). After a few weeks, I finally remembered and sent it back. Lo and behold, a $449.99 charge shows up on my Verizon bill. I called, explained the situation and the CS representative asked for the tracking number. Well I certainly didn't think to save that - I had just dropped the kit and kaboodle off at Pack and Ship and let them take care of it (for free, of course).
The Verizon guy on the phone told me he'd send the inquiry to the warehouse and have them try to find my returned phone. Three days later, I get a call from the same Verizon guy telling me they'd found the phone and deducted the amount from my bill. Easy peasy. On the flip side, in my old house I didn't get Verizon service whatsoever. The house and neighborhood just seemed like a giant dead spot. I called repeatedly asking what the deal was, and nobody ever had an answer for me. The only solution I ever got with that one was - "well, do you want to get out of your contract?" No, no I don't. I just want service where I live. Overall I've had pretty good experience with Verizon - both wireless and FiOS. They seem to resolve issues pretty quickly for me and want to find a solution. The only reason I'd change is for a cheaper plan elsewhere or an iPhone. |

Had same issue with them not shutting off texting when requested. What I found works with them, is that instead of calling you go to the nearest Verizon B&M and discuss this with the manager. Worked for me, they took the charges off, reset the features per my instructions and since then I had no problems with them. Calling them is probably a waste of time as you also found out.
Reception wise, they are simply unbeatable, IMO. Been with them since '92, back then it was GTE. Quote:
