Hope this clears up your question about a "base" on the product. The regular Stinky Cigar Ashtray has a "base" welded to the bottom of the bowl. (manufacturing term: base-cup) The Floor Ashtray has one part at the bottom that we call the "base" and it bolts on to the part we call the "Post" which also bolts on to the "bowl" which is specifically manufactured to be bolted to the top of the post.
