I was never a kraut fan growing up. But after being in Germany for the last 3 1/2 years I may have to learn to make my own. The garbage in the store just doesn't even seem like the same food as the good stuff.

Make sauerkraut and also turnip kraut. Nothing like the homemade kind. After it is done, put in in freezer bags and freeze it.

Well it finally finished after about 7 weeks. Ended up with 8 quarts jarred...tastes great!
