First and foremost, you have to have Blackberry System 5. If you aren't on system five already, use blackberry desktop to upgrade. Then, in blackberry messenger select the option under groups to scan a group barcode. Scan in the barcode with your camera and it will send the request.

actually you only need to have bbm 5.0. I don't have the os yet and it still works fine. go to the app store, after backing up your bb, dl and install bbm 5.0 and have fun
