Obviously not ideal if youre looking to warm the entire deck.

I use one of these and they work really well as it is radiant heat and only heats what is in front of it. Even if it's cold and windy, it still works but you have to be closer to it and somewhat shielded from the wind. Allows us to smoke on the front porch during the winter without wearing gloves.
