2009 Edition Pipe decisions

I'm looking at this with great enthusiasm. Great oportunity to get a celebrational pipe made by a carver everybody talks about.

Will the sign up be in this thread or is there going to be another official sign up thread started? I've been excited as hell from the first mention of this coming to light so I don't want to miss it.

Boswell pipes are great smokers. I still have one from 1999 and traded one away. I'd like to get in on this if there's room. If it's full then that's OK, too.

There's one thing I notice about Boswell's pokers that bothers me a little.
I´m slightly germofobic and I can´t help to notice that some of those pipes are carved in a way in which the bit touches the surface... I mean, one of the advantages of pokers is precisely their sitting ability, which means you can put them down anywhere... I really wouldn´t be confortable in putting down a pipe whose bit touches the surface, at least at most places... I would like to know what you guys think about that (am I too paranoid about germs?), but I think that's not a good concept for sitter pipes.

So, Tim, if not too much bother, maybe you could mention that to JM? I really wouldn't be able to enjoy my pipe otherwise...
