It is NOT because they only sat for ..... they are (usually) shipped at a high humidity .

Don’t add water to yer beads ever ... I use a small block of florists foam (about the size of a bar of soap) to add humidity to my coolers(beads) ... and (once again) NEVER wet the beads .

In regards your hygrometer ... don’t calibrate just find an RH that works for you and go with that ... doesn’t matter if it’s 62 or 65 as long as they smoke good .

Yea I am figuring that out about beads now. It seems all I had to do was raise the RH then put the dry beads in and they lowered it to 70 easily. I am drying out the soaked beads now. Do you leave the beads in there with the foam or do you let the foam sit in there for a while then put the beads in to lower the RH?
