If you were looking for the best bottle of southern mash bourbon or whiskey for under $100, what would your suggestions be? Could you describe the taste profiles, which ones are more smoky/peaty and which are more caramel/molasses?

There's a bourbon thread that's very active (many pages) with lots of reviews and price discussions. If I knew how to do links on this stupid phone, I'd link you to it. There were several posts on the thread in last 24 hours, so should be easy to find.
