Anyone here make their own sweet tea?

I remembered that I had some tea bags up in the cupboard and I just googled a simple recipe online and made some sweet tea.

I just used regular lipton tea and some sugar. It's in the fridge now and just waiting for it to get colder. I tried a little bit of it and it tasted alright. See how well it turns out when it's completely cold.

Being from GA, I am all about it. I use Splenda instead. I like it strong too.

Success! came out great. A little sweet, but not too bad.

Being from Georgia too, I like my tea so sweet that you could use it as maple syrup on your pancakes.

We make our own at home all the time, very strong, very good!

How exactly do you make that? You just let it sit in the sun right? Did you add sugar or anything?

I would just hang the tea bags down through the lid then seal it so they hang in the water. Let it sit out in the sun all day to steep. After that I would add lemon and sugar to taste, I like it really sweet.

I have been making tea since I was able to walk. That's no joke. We always had and still have a pitcher of sweet tea in my fridge. I don't know if it's a recipe per se, but it's how my mom made it and showed me:

Get 6 regular bags of tea (Lipton, there is NO OTHER!!) and leave the strings on them and tie together with a simple knot.
Get about 2 quarts of water boiling on the stove.
Then take it off the heat and let the bubbles stop.
Then add the tea bags allowing the strings to just hang over the side of the pot and get held in place by the lid so the bags are floating, not touching the bottom.
Steep for 15 minutes.
In the meantime while it's steeping, get a gallon pitcher similar to this:
Put in 1 - 1/4 cups of sugar
Then when the 15 minutes are up, simply dump the tea into the pitcher. Be sure not to let the bags fall into the pitcher. Then while stirring fill the pitcher with cold water to the top. You can also refill the pot a little with cold water and press out the tea bags with a spoon and add that liquid for a little stronger flavor.

I was making my own sweetened honey tea for a while, but the mint plants were growing out of control so I removed them all about a month ago!

Is there also a written procedure for breathing?

I kid........here in the south it comes out of the taps.

I hear that!

The recipe is pretty much any tea, water and a $hitton of sugar.

I cannot stress enough..... Ive made it a few times and the amount of sugar is shocking.

I personally like half unsweetened and half sweet.
