Just reread this... where are they traveling from? They may pass several decent places on the way back if they are coming by car. Sounds like Nags Head is a wash, but there may be some nice alternatives on their route. Just an idea...

I've been to all of them and you/they won't be disappointed, depending on what you're looking for and what might be in stock.
