Gomes performance yesterday was long overdue. Hoping his homers yesterday are motivation for the
entire team. I miss the days of Johnny Bench,Pete Rose, Joe Morgan,Tony Perez, Dave Concepcion, Ken Griffey all great players. Reds fanbase was massive back then. I didn't hear as much smack and trash talking about the team as I do today. |

Volquez looked decent tonight. Lowered his ERA a bit, cut his hair, and looks like he's got a slight bit more discipline on the mound. What's the bullpen going to do with virtually two days off? 8 innings by Leake yesterday, now 7 by Volquez.

Beating a team battling to stay out of the cellar better help their confidence. Luckily the leagues bottom 3 are shaping up to be terrible again this year.

Man, they are bad on 'get away day' this season.
 Stubbs should take notes from Fukudome on some patience to draw a walk, get on base and not strikeout in the leadoff spot.
