Anyone use the MagicJack?

My best friend's sister is in Paris doing a study abroad program and though he hasn't really told me the specifics, he says her MagicJack works perfectly for her.

His recommendation means a lot to me for this product, as he's the uber-geeky type and would quickly trash talk a crappy techy product.
