Jim, Apple is selling a camera kit that lets you plug into the dock connecter, use a SD card and transfer pictures and videos. Don't know what that means, and don't know if you'll be able to just carry a bunch of music and movies on an SD card and transfer ( or maybe even play them directly from the card). If that's so, the size of the flash storage may be a non issue.
