The max size it can use depends on the firmware Nikon loaded back in the day on the camera. I would guess max for that time you'd be looking at 1GB. I'll look and see if I can find out.
As for the CF Card you buy make sure to get Type 1. I saw its a type 1 and therefore type 2 CF Cards will not fit in your camera. EDIT: Yup, 1GB. http://support.nikontech.com/app/ans...tail/a_id/5096
