I was in Punta Cana last week! Stayed at the Majestic Colonial, in the Colonial Club (adults only section). Had a great time and highly recommend it. I booked my trip through Costco Travel and feel that I got a good deal. They throw in a discount at the resort spa and you get $100 towards off resort activities of your choice. I will have to look into Costco for the next one, I always forget they have trips. Was your beach private? Ours isn't and I have heard mixed reviews of the locals walking along the beach trying to sell stuff.
