True anecdote ...

My boys grew up with a backyard rink ... were few rules out there but 1) must wear helmet 2) no fighting .

One day while watching from the kitchen ... saw the boys remove gloves and remove helmets and start punching it out ... no hate involved ( at least no more than usual for two brothers ) ... just trying something they both knew was forbidden .

Hour or two later they came in the house for lunch ... oldest had a ( smallish ) black eye ... asked him what happened ??? His reply " oh nothing ".

One of the things I like about hockey, they let players police it themselves, obviously up to a point, but most of the smaller stuff eventually gets handled on the ice. Thank God or Tom would have no reason to play ... speaking of which, how is that goal drought going, Tom?
