So my friend Dave owns a motorcycle recycling business (http://cyclepsycho.com/)

He bought one of the old bikes used in the TV show CHiPs. He restored it and sent a note to the actor who played Jon. Here is what he wrote on FaceBook:

I sent some pictures of the 1979 Kawasaki KZ1000-C2 Police motorcycle I restored this year to CHiPs star Larry Wilcox a few weeks ago. This just came in the mail today.
